Dave Shoemaker

Big River Tattoo is in full swing! Our doors are open and we have new artists on board.

We are very proud and excited to welcome Dave Shoemaker to the shop! Dave has been tattooing for over 25 years. While Dave is diverse in style, he brings something very new to the shop: Polynesian tattoos. His Polynesian tribal tattoos are rich and clean as he pays close attention to how the designs contour the body. Dave has said that he wants his tattoos to “be grounded in the past, enabling them to stand up to the test of time”.

He will be here every Friday.

Email changfreely@gmail.com to schedule an appointment with Dave!

Rich Cahill Studio is officially Big River Tattoo!

We’ve turned the studio into a shop. The walls have been repainted, we’ve got flash framed and hanging on the walls. Art from friends and from around the world have been matted and hung. New lights, new stations, new artists.

Tom Aversa and I will tattooing every week.
My long time friend, Dave Shoemaker will be in every Friday starting January 15th.
JP Conrad is here every Tuesday doing stick and poke tattoos.
Guest artists are on the way!

Shoot me an email at changfreely@gmail.com or bigrivertattoonj@gmail.com to make an appointment.

August 7th, 8th and 9th 2015 Crowne Plaza 1741 Paper Mill Rd. Wyomissing Pennsylvania

I will be joining fellow artists at Pagoda City Tattoo Fest the first weekend in August! It will be fun catching up with old friends I haven’t seen in a long time and I’m looking forward to making new ones. I will have an assortment of my rotary machines on hand. There will be tattooing, seminars, and contests throughout the event. Come on out, get tattooed, and enjoy!

I’m taking appointments for the show and walk ups too.

Email changfreely@gmail.com if you’d like to schedule an appointment during the festival.

Tebori Tattoos

I am happy to announce that I have been studying and working in the art of Tebori, a traditional Japanese method of tattooing. Tebori, a form of hand tattooing, uses a long steel needle instead of standard tattoo machine. The insertion of the steel needle creates a dense richness in color, as well as allowing for a wide gradation of colors. Following tradition, I handcrafted my needle tool. Outside of Japan, Tebori is rarely practiced. I’m so excited to bring this ancient experience to New Jersey!
